The FV Feedburner Replacement plugin was created as a response to Google's announcement that it was shutting down the FeedBurner service and its API.
This plugin basically lets developers create a page similar to the FeedBurner feed subscription landing page.
If the plugin detects a feed reader associated with the user and his browser it shows the feed and all is native subscription controls. If a native feed reader is not supported, the FV Feedburner Replacement subscription (landing) page is shown.
On this landing page the developers can place an email subscription form to convert RSS readers to newsletter followers as well. This email form can be from any email and newsletter mailing list manager service, like AWeber, Mailchimp, or even your very own hosted MLM.
In case an older FeedBurner subscriber re-visits your site, the plugin can also show a message asking him to upgrade his subscription by showing him the newsletter subscribe form.
To help developers get started, a default newsletter subscription form is included, with an additional "Export to CSV" feature to easily export subscribed users.
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
